My name is Ben Jones and I am graduating from Fairhope High School this May. I received a Presidential Scholarship to Faulkner State, where I plan to attend this fall. After Faulkner I plan to go to The University of South Alabama. My current interests are in web design and development, and I hope to pursue a career which will fulfill my interests and allow me to work in a creative, interactive, and productive environment.

I used my college day on April 28, 2004. I went to Dogwood Productions, Inc. to learn about web design. I met with John Strope, the Technical Director, and he told me a little about the company and what they do. The area I am most interested in is the design aspect of web development. So, I met met with Phillip Davis, the Interactive Designer, to find out more about my interests.

I used an Apple computer or Mac, which is abreviated for Macintosh, to work on this web site. Most all hardware that's used at Dogwood is Mac based. I learned a lot about the Mac and really found that the visual interface was user friendly.

I used Adobe's program, Photoshop 7.0, to create the visual layouts that I incorporated into this page. This is an excellent progam, and it really has endless possibilities.

I used another Adobe program, GoLive 6.0, to create the html page. This application utilized the graphics we created in Photoshop to be displayed on the web. This application is similar to Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, and I have found it very easy to import graphics and text.

Transmit is an application used to upload files to the server to view on the web. The speed and efficiency was most impressive.
